How can a mezzanine floor add value?

If you’re looking to revamp your current office space, but have some budget or time constraints, then installing a mezzanine floor could be the ideal solution. We have spoken in other blogs about what an office mezzanine floor is, but how can it add value?

Like all types of construction or renovation work, a mezzanine floor will bring its own pros and cons, so in this post, we’re going to look at how it can add value so that you can decide for yourself if this is a solution that could work for you.

A cost-effective way to maximise space

Firstly, a mezzanine floor adds value as they are far more cost-effective than other types of construction work, while at the same time maximising the space you have available.

The extra space you have from adding this floor can be used in a variety of ways, such as private meeting spaces, brainstorming rooms, communal areas for staff to have breaks away from the main office or even as a practical storage space – you certainly won’t be stuck for options when it comes to how you can use your mezzanine floor.

Break up larger spaces and high ceilings

If you have an office space with high ceilings and not as much floor space as you’d like – or even just an awkward layout in terms of floor space, then it could make more sense to build upwards by creating a mezzanine level.

Not only do you get the benefit of additional space that can be used, but it adds a certain level of character and flair to the space overall and helps it look less cold and more forgiving by breaking up the space between the floor and ceiling.

They offer more flexibility

One of the best things about a mezzanine floor is that they’re not permanent if you don’t want them to be, so they offer a great deal of flexibility.

They can be moved around relatively easily if needed, and, so even if you do decide for more permanent fixtures and changes to your office building such as an extension, you can re-position your mezzanine floor to suit the new layout.
